For 4 years, Livid has been setting the benchmark in the LED lighting industry. In March 2017, Peak Lighting and Livid Lighting combined forces, launching an new range of world class LED lighting products produced and designed in our own facility. Combining Livid’s passion and Peak’s rich 10 year heritage in the building some of the world’s most reliable LED driving lights, light bars and work lights for the global mining sector, gives the newly founded collaboration unstoppable momentum.

To ensure we are on the forefront of the LED technology and optical evolution, we have a purpose built facility in Taiwan employing some of the world’s most renowned engineers from Australia, Germany and America.

Engineered in Germany, the HyperDrive offers staggering led driving light performance with a unique design. Spawned from a rich heritage of heavy duty mining applications, every element of the HyperDrive promotes reliability and robusticity.

Our German optical engineers have designed the world’s first and only application specific optical lens to ensure the XM-L2’s potential is fully extracted. Projecting over 1000m in usable light from a pair of 80w lamps makes the HyperDrive’s 32% more efficient than the LightForce 140w Genesis LED and 27% more efficient than 165w Narva’s 215 LED.
Unlike any other lamp in the world, you can wave goodbye to hotspots and strange strands of light! The benefit of the precise optical lens is to retain complete control of the light projected, eliminating hotspots and light bleed. Livid 6.5″ Xplorer

The Xplorer LED Driving Light delivers state of the art technology, superb driving dynamics in a unique, compact design. The Xplorer distills the HyperDrive leadership, continuing the pedigree of refinement, performance and precision expected from a World Class LED Driving Light.

Despite its small stature, the Xplorer can pack a mighty punch, with 5,495 effective lumens per unit, this is a class leading driving light.

These lights are a great allrounder, with a 10° Combo Optical Projection Lens they ensure that you get the light down range to where you need it, and help you see as clearly as possible with the amazing 6000K XM-L2 CREE LEDs giving you perfect crystal clarity of vision.

LED junction temperatures reach up to 150°C
Hot spots within LED luminaires decrease performance and result in premature failure
To ensure junction temperatures are dissipated efficiently, LightSYNC integrates Dow Corning thermal paste to instantly engage the thermal mass of the heatsink housing
To ensure the 50,000 hour life expectancy of the chipset is maintained, each unit is digitally simulated in different environments to refine the heatsink configuration. This ensures longevity and reliable, consistent performance – no matter the circumstances.
Copping the brunt of the natural forces that the typical unit will see, the LightSYNC platform must also be robust and resilient
To ensure robusticity of the unit, Dow Corning silicones and rubbers have been integrated
This also allows efficient thermal conductivity whilst guaranteeing the unit stays in accordance with the Ingress Protection 69 specification
Internal pressure is regulated by a GoreTex breather whilst water tight Deutsch plugs connect the unit to the power source. Anodized aluminium and 100% polyester TGIC Black Powder Coated housing guarantee superior UV resistance and high abrasion resistance.


Positioning & Mounting

Firstly, It is not your weapon of choice, but more where you choose to holster it. After testing different applications, in many different scenarios, it became clear that where you mount your unit/s is everything.

Forward lighting applications, the unit should be always mounted in front of your peripheral vision. Mounting a light behind the drivers seating position can cause havoc for many reasons. Reflection and refraction of light from incorrect mounting can cause light to spay into your cabin and hinder your vision at night. Imagine leaving the interior lights on in the vehicle whilst driving at night, its annoying and it takes away the performance of your headlights.

For ultimate performance, your lights should be mounted at least 800 millimeters off the ground, on the front of the vehicle. Mounting lights on the roof or headboard of your vehicle will end up illuminating your mirrors, bonnet, aerial etc. Not to mention, your roof and bonnet will cast a big shadow in front of you – greatly reducing potential performance of your lights.


Flood Light Application

For spread application, the LED Bars really come into their own. Instead of traditionally having one globe per driving light, we now have the benefit of having multiple. This benefits us massively by allowing us to choose a optical pattern for each luminary (spread/flood) which eliminates hot spots and shadows. This allows much safer and more enjoyable experience, providing a full width, near field spread pattern.

The million dollar question. Our vehicle features the HyperDrive’s and a roof mounted Navigator 42 Bar, which results in the perfect amount of light. The HyperDrive’s excel at long distance projection, and the Navigator Bar provides peripheral spread whilst still offering immense distance with it’s combination of spot/flood reflectors.
